Maria Ozawa in Mexico

One of the most recognizable faces in South East Asia, Maria Ozawa began making waves on social media with a series of Instagram posts from the popular vacation town of Guadalajara, Mexico.
The 31-year-old model/actress visited Mexico for a getaway that included a trip to La Rojeña, the historic distillery that has produced Tequila for almost three centuries. Ozawa was accompanied by other personalities such as Tim Yap, Bianca Manalo, and Charmaine Palermo

Ozawa landed at Guadalajara, where she spent the evening at the Camino Real Hotel. She enjoyed her day sightseeing and hanging with locals, before embarking to the town of Tequila, Jalisco the following morning. The trip began with the Jose Cuervo Express, a luxury ride that takes tourists straight to the town of Tequila.

“I’m so excited for my new adventure!” Ozawa shared online.
In Tequila, Ozawa and her friends were taken to the blue agave fields to learn how the harvesting of the plant plays such a pivotal role in the production of the much-beloved drink. The experience at the fields gave way to a unique tour through La Rojeña, to witness the distillation and production of tequila. - manilastandard.net

May mga nagkakautang ba sa inyo na ayaw magbayad? Pwede nyo na silang Kasuhan!

With poverty comes many problems, and some people in their desire to get out of the poverty trap or just to survive resort to borrowing money from people, loan sharks, cooperatives or even banks. In connection to this, are you one of the people that your local community considers as a go-to person to get loans? But despite the kindness you showed them, your generosity might not always be reciprocated. Now borrowing money is no sin, but not paying is. Have you ever had the experience of people begging you for loans but when its time to repay it they suddenly develop short-term memory loss?

Well worry no more, now you have the legal rights to get repayment from your borrower.
The Supreme Court revised the legal methods of claiming debt payment. In the past lenders would have to file a criminal case against their deadbeat borrower’s, but now through the revisions, it can now be done in a quick and easy method. Instead of filing a criminal case, now you merely have to file a civil case within an MMTC and in just 30 days of filling the process, the courts can release a conclusion.

The new system no longer requires an expensive filing fee. These new provisions also provide that impoverished complainants can ask for compensations. And as the former Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno explained “Ito po ay abot-kayang hustisya. Sapagkat sa pananaw namin wala pong maliit na halaga na hindi dapat ayusin ng hustisya. Sa small claims, sisiguraduhin natin na ang batas ay maging simple, mabilis at mura.”

After 30 days upon filing the process, the court will tell the defendant and need them to answer the said complaint and will schedule a hearing. In the event that both parties aren’t able to settle the problem, the judge will quickly release a decision of the case within 24 hours. If the money processes aren’t over PHP200,000 then according to the new Supreme Court provision, lawyers assistance is no longer required. The complainant just has to fill out the small claims and submit the required supporting documents. The new provisions also have safety measures for it not to be misapplied; extra charges will be applied every extra defendant and an additional charge when a person files a case for more than 5 times a year. Approximately, 13000 small process cases were solved, much higher than the 10,000 cases that were solved in 2015, based on the data provided by the Supreme Court.

Gabi ng Lagim VI by KMJS

Gabi ng Lagim VI by KMJS
Did you know that the KMJS [Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho] Halloween Special “Gabi ng Lagim VI” was the most-watched program as well as the most-talked about topic on social media last Sunday (Oct. 28)?

Hosted by internationally-awarded broadcast journalist and GMA News pillar Jessica Soho, KMJS’s Halloween special recorded an overnight people audience rating of 14.4 percent in National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM), based on data from Nielsen TV Audience Measurement. It lorded over counterpart shows Rated K and I Can See Your Voice, which only managed to get 8.0 percent and 5.0 percent, respectively.

A few days ahead of the show’s airing, the online community was abuzz with excitement as netizens anticipate what KMJS had prepared for its Halloween Special. The hashtag “KMJSGabiNgLagimVI” became the Philippines’ top trending topic on Twitter just a few seconds after the program aired. It even hit the worldwide Twitter trends, peaking at number three among the top trending topics.

Since 2013, “Gabi ng Lagim” has become the most awaited horror anthology on Philippine TV. Going beyond the ordinary re-telling of spooky and mysterious stories, “Gabi ng Lagim” commissioned seasoned TV and film directors to depict real-life accounts into documentary-films. Last Sunday’s special featured the works of esteemed GMA Public Affairs directors Rember Gelera, Adolfo Alix, Jr., Aaron Pappins Mendoza, and Zig Dulay. KMJS also tapped paranormal investigator Ed Caluag in investigating some of the featured strange incidents.

KMJS’ “Gabi ng Lagim VI” featured stories on the various ghost encounters in Manila City Hall as told by some of its employees; Aklan’s horror story of the undead or Amaranhig; the haunted hospital in Pampanga; and the unique premonitions and ability to predict future events of Jay Costura.

The Halloween special also saw the special participation of Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros lead actor Nathan Lopez who portrayed Jay, and Ika-5 Utos star Inah de Belen, who appeared in the Haunted Hospitaldocu-film. Inah is the daughter of veteran actress Janice de Belen, who starred in the ‘90s horror film Anak ni Janice. Eat Bulaga mainstay Maine Mendoza, meanwhile, joined in the fun online when a netizen pointed out that it was her who was one of the undead in the docu-film Amaranhig. Maine half-jokingly tweeted she had to do a cameo to earn extra money but later clarified that it was not her in the scene.
